Former National ‘B’ Player (1990)

Syndicate Bank Chess Team Member (1990 -2001)

Kovai Kids Chess Academy was the first Chess Academy for kids in Coimbatore started in August 2001 by T.D.Krishnamurthy (Retired Syndicate Bank Officer). KKCA has been successfully coaching chess for kids for the past 22 years. The main ambition of the Academy has been to promote chess among kids, in and around Coimbatore.So far 5000+ kids have learnt the core basics of the ancient game of Chess in our regular and Online classes and summer camps. KKCA has so far conducted 15 district level tournaments and 2 FIDE Rated chess tournaments and was appreciated by the sponsors , parents and the players.

Coach Vidya

9 years of Coaching Experience

FIDE Certified National Instructor ( 2020 )

Vidya Krishnamurthy is a Chess Player with current rating of 1569 in standard and 1493 in Rapid (Highest ELO was 1721 in standard). She holds 15+ years of Chess playing experience. She along with her dad worked as a Chess Teacher at a private CBSE School in Coimbatore for 4 years. Coach Vidya’s students have received many prizes in both District and State Level Tournaments.

Her Achievement Highlights : 

  • First Rank Holder in TamilNadu State Beginner Coach Exam – 2016

  •  4 times consecutive title winner of U-25 years ( girls ) district

    championship for the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

  • Winner of Bharathiar University Intercollegiate Chess Championship, 2011.
